Out of Agency

In California LAFCo (Local Agency Formation Commission), an Out-of-Agency Service Request generally refers to a city or special district providing services outside its legally established jurisdictional boundaries.  The most common Out- Of - Agency request would be the request for  conditional sewer / water service .

Under the Cortese-Knox-Hertzberg Local Government Reorganization Act of 2000 (CKH Act), this is commonly referred to as “Out-of-Agency Service” and is governed by California Government Code § 56133.
